Kerstin Lindman-Strafford has lived most of her life in the United States and Britain from where she has reported for Hufvudstadsbladet and Swedish Radio in Sweden. Her book Bloody Foreigner, Bilder från mitt engelska liv, is her 9 and reflects a lifelong interest in “roots” i.e. questions of national and personal identity.

English Folk Traditions – The Coming Winter
An investigation of typical folk customs still followed in the British Isles. Topics will include rush-bearing in the North-West, New Year’s customs in Scotland and England, and a more detailed presentation of the traditions of Cambridge and The Fens, like Plough Monday. This will include experience of Molly dancing, a typical traditional street dance of this area.
