The Töölö Sports Hall on Mannerheimintie street, originally built to host fairs, was completed in 1935. The building was designed by the architects Aarne Hytönen and Risto-Veikko Luukkonen. It was meant as a community centre where, in addition to fairs, concerts and festivities would be held. When completed, the hall was the largest exhibition space in the Nordic region. But soon the building proved to be too small and after the Second World War a second hall was built. Nowadays the City of Helsinki Sports

Department uses the Hall. The new Fair Centre was completed in Itä-Pasila ( East Pasila) in 1975.
There were wooden houses on the site of the trade fair hall as late as the 1920s. The B-hall took the place of the Hippodrome which was built in the1910s. There was stabling for 40 horses and the auditorium could hold 1000 spectators. The repertoire included circus performances, wrestling competitions and boxing matches. The Hippodrome was pulled down in the late 1940s.
