Amalia Kiseleff wore this dress while accompanying the Empress Maria Alexandrovna at the State Ball in Helsinki on September 18, 1863.

Amalia Mattheiszen's husband was the consul Feodor Kiseleff, who, together with his brothers, had inherited the sugar factory in Töölö. He carried out countless matters of state, thanks to which Amalia Kiseleff had the honour to be one of the Empress Maria Alexandrovna's entourage at the time of the 1863 Diet. The marriage was without issue, but their Alberga estate became a second home to her sister Emilia's children. Emilia's granddaughter, Mary Slöör, married the artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela and the artist's

Tarvaspää studio was built on the estate.
The Alberga estate was also something of a musical venue. The Swiss pianino owned by the Kiseleffs was quite possibly acquired for the musical soirées organised there. Emilia Mattheiszen was married to the organist and composer Fredrik August Ehrström. From an early age, their daughter, with her beautiful voice, was one of the soirées' firm favourites.
