| The estate
manager was responsible for the estate
management at the absence of the master or in
case the lord of the manor was not interested
in the management. The estate manager was an
employee and supervised the bailiffs overseers
and storekeepers, who in their turn, gave
orders to peasants, farm hands and labourers. |
|
| The estate manager resided in a separately
standing manager's house and was a man of
acknowledged importance on the estate,
responsible for the organization of farming,
stock, selling and exchanging the products. He
also had to make business trips to
neighbouring estates and nearby towns where
the estate produce was sold to various
merchants. |
