was the site for a battle, where Swedish
cavalry unit of 40 men attacked against a
group of cossacks. The cossacks retreated to a
swamp area where about half of dozen of them

Among the killed cossacks was an officer,
who was wearing gold cloth, helmet and an
armour, and he rode a thoroughbred horse.
After the battle, the people in Helsinki
witnessed a peculiar sight, when an enemy
negotiator rode to town with camels. It turned
out that the dead cossack officer was general
Krasnashuk. The Russians had thought that the
general had been taken as a prisoner, and
wanted to bring his things to him. The
commander of the Swedish troops gave orders to
release the general’s body and his
equipment, and they were taken in a convoy
back to the Russian camp.
