Indoor Swimming Pools in Helsinki

There are 14 indoor swimming pools for public use in
Helsinki. Five of them are managed by the City of Helsinki Sports
Department;
Itäkeskus, Jakomäki,
Pirkkola, Ruoholahti and
Yrjönkatu. Other pools are situated in Haaga, Kallio,
Kontula, Lauttasaari, Malmi, Mäkelänrinne,
Siltamäki, Töölö and
Vuosaari.
Free entrance
Helsinki citizens who hold a Front Veteran’s Badge of a Front Line
Service Badge as well as war invalids residing in Helsinki are granted
an exemption from entrance fee. Free entrance is gained by presenting
the Front Line Service card or the Oak Leaf lapel pin. The exemption
from entrance fee applies to all indoor pools presented in this site.
Swimming card for the disabled
The swimming card for the disabled grants free entry to persons with
reduced functional capacity (for an assistant, too, if required). The
card is valid in all the indoor pools presented in this site as well as
in the outdoor pools of Kumpula and Swimming stadium.
Pools accessible for the disabled
The following indoor pools are accessible for the disabled:
Itäkeskus, Jakomäki (no pool lift), Malmi (no
pool lift), Mäkelänrinne, Pirkkola, Siltamäki and Vuosaari.
Ozone Purification
The following pools use the ozone purification method: Itäkeskus,
Kallio, Malmi, Mäkelänrinne, Ruoholahti and Vuosaari. Ozone
purification is used in part at the Yrjönkatu swimming pools.
